Models of spiritual growth are illustrations that show us spiritual growth. These models are a kind of shorthand language. They allow us to sum up a major idea or group of ideas in just a few words. This can be very helpful in quickly explaining something to someone as long as they know the model.
Five of us students at Indiana Wesleyan University spent about six weeks with Professor Keith Drury talking about these models. We met over lunch and discussed growth and change in the Christian spiritual walk. I have put them into words as best I could in hopes of exposing others to the work of Professor Drury or Coach D. These written models will never take the place of his personal insights and explanations but not everyone can meet with the man over lunch. I hope that these models will encourage you and make you think about stepping up your walk with God.
